In this week's strip, Jessi gives Martha Stewart a run for her money by offering a few hostess tips. Her problem: Porn is fun to watch, but very few adult movies are well-made enough to deserve your full attention, or arousing enough to actually get off to. Parties are fun, too, but there are those inevitable lulls in the conversation. The solution: Put the porno on during the party and enjoy both!

Most of this strip was inspired by my undergraduate years at UTD. There were always tons of guys at campus drinking parties and not too many girls, so if a single lady did show up, she always got her way--choice of drinks, choice of seat, choice of music or television. (Just like Rosemary does at the end.) The scene in panel seven was taken directly from my college graduation party which was busted up by the campus cops. In one of those "could not make it up if I tried" moments, the arresting officer threatened to seize a stack of porn DVDs that was sitting on top of the television.

Will there be more editions of "Jessi's Lessons" in the future? Jessi loves to get up on her soapbox, so I can almost guarantee it.
